Hong Kong Airlines teams up with Asiana

An Asiana flight lands at HKIA

Hong Kong Airlines has entered into codeshare partnership with Asiana Airlines, in an effort to provide more flight options between Hong Kong and South Korea.

Under the new agreement, the two Asian carriers will place their flight codes on a combined total of five daily flights between the HKIA and Seoul’s Incheon Airport. The codeshare flights have already opened for sale.

“We launched the daily flight service from Hong Kong to Seoul last December, which was our first route to Korea. From then we have been actively exploring ways to improve schedule options on this route,” explained Li Dianchun, Hong Kong Airlines’ chief commercial officer. “We are very happy to establish codesharing partnership with Asiana Airlines.

“By connecting the hubs of the two airlines, the codeshare does not only benefit customers travelling between Hong Kong and Seoul, it also allows customers to seamlessly transfer when they travel on an itinerary to or from other destinations that includes flights operated by both carriers,” he added.

Asiana operates four daily flights to Hong Kong using a mix of single- and twin-aisle aircraft, while Hong Kong Airlines flies daily to Seoul using its single-aisle Airbus A320.
