Delta Air Lines has started selling its new Delta One and Delta Premium Select products, which are due to debut on the airline’s Airbus A350 aircraft.
Entering service in the fourth quarter of 2017 on routes between the US and Northeast Asia, the new A350’s Delta One suites will include flat-bed seats with direct aisle access, full-height sliding doors, dividers between the centre suites, storage compartments for shoes, headphones and laptops, in-flight entertainment with 18-inch monitors, USB ports and power outlets.
Seats in the Delta Premium Select cabin meanwhile, feature a pitch of almost 97cm and an 18cm recline. Passengers in this premium economy cabin are also offered a 13.3-inch seatback IFE screen, power outlets for both large and small devices, and Delta’s “Sky Priority” service, which includes faster check-in, security screening, boarding and baggage services.
The A350s featuring these new cabin products will be introduced on the Detroit-Tokyo Narita route on 30 October 2017, before being introduced on flights from Detroit to Seoul and Beijing in November 2017 and January 2018 respectively.
Delta’s new fleet of long-range A350s will operate primarily on trans-Pacific routes between the US and Asia, replacing its aging fleet of Boeing 747s.
Following its debut on the A350, the Delta One cabin will be introduced on Delta’s Boeing 777 fleet.
