Several Asian tourism companies have signed up for a new charitable corporate bike tour, which is being organised by Yaana Ventures.

The inaugural three-day ‘Yaana Bike Challenge’ will take place in Vietnam from 9-11 September 2017, with all funds raised from the event being donated to Operation Smile, which helps Asian children with facial deformities. The event, which will also champion sustainable tourism, will see riders cycle 226km from Quy Nhon to Hoi An.

The three-day challenge will be organised by Grasshopper Adventures, the Bangkok-based bicycle tour operator owned by Yaana Ventures.

“It is a signature responsible tourism experience and fundraising event designed to be enjoyed by corporate managers who want to do more,” said Adam Platt-Hepworth, CEO of Grasshopper Adventures. “[Corporate participants] can test their ability on the bike, network in the evenings and give a beautiful new start for children born with cleft palates.”

Funds will be donated to Operation Smile

To date, the Yaana Bike Challenge has signed up 15 riders, mainly from travel-related companies including InVision Hospitality, Khiri Travel, Antipodeans, Green Trails, Sansara and Remote Trails and ScottAsia Communications. The event is not only open to the travel industry however; renewable energy company Chow Energy has also signed up.

“Apart from sponsors in travel, tourism and hospitality we are working to attract corporates from other sectors in Asia who share our sustainable business and fundraising objectives,” explained Willem Niemeijer, CEO of Yaana Ventures.

The organisers are seeking more than 25 riders for the inaugural event. Grasshopper will provide equipment and support throughout the trip, although riders have to arrange their own hotels and flights. CLICK HERE for more information about the Yaana Bike Challenge.
