Thai Airways International has taken delivery of its fifth Airbus A350 aircraft, which came filled with a cargo of charitable goods for underprivileged children in Thailand’s southern provinces.

Under the so-called “Goodwill Flight”, the Airbus Foundation teamed up Aviation Without Borders and the International School of Toulouse to transport 1,000 sets of school supplies aboard the aircraft, including backpacks and classroom stationery.

“We are pleased to be able to support and bring our logistical aid to children from underprivileged backgrounds,” said Andrea Debbane, executive director of the Airbus Foundation. “We are proud of this achievement as the donation will improve the children’s educational situation and bring relief to the poor supply of school equipment.”

THAI has ordered 12 A350s, five of which have now been delivered. All come fitted with 321 seats – 32 in business class and 289 in economy. The latest A350 has been named “Yannawa”.

This was the fifth goodwill delivery flight organised between THAI and the Airbus Foundation.
