The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has implemented its reassessment (Air Operator Certificate Recertification – AOCR) of all Thai carriers as part of a requirement by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to remove the red flag placed on Thailand aviation since 2015.

According to Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Director General of CAAT, the carrier will be granted new AOC in October 2017 after completion of the assessment and may start international services immediately. In September.

Thai Vietjet has already put additional frequency on major domestic routes of Bangkok – Phuket, Bangkok – Chiang Mai, Phuket – Chiang Rai. It is expected that the carrier will announce its international expansion plan from Bangkok to new destinations in Vietnam, China and Taiwan in October 2017.
