Batam and Bintan push for tourism boost

The Ministry of Tourism for Republic of Indonesia has announced a new collaboration with several ferry operators and tourism industries on Batam and Bintan to help increase the number of international visitors to the Islands.

Travellers who wish to explore Batam and Bintan, via Singapore and Malaysia, can now purchase specially priced travel packages – with the best deals running Monday to Thursday, to encourage visitors and increase the economy of the region.

Rizki Handayani, director of Promotion for the Southeast Asia, Ministry of Tourism in Indonesia, affirmed the joint action, “We have been working with ferry operators and tourism industries in Batam and Bintan, Tanjung Pinang, to create special packages for tourists.”

Handayani also noted that branding for the drive, known as ‘Wonderful Indonesia’ will be placed in Batam Fast counter sites as well as mentioning, “moreover, as added value, tourists can also enjoy coffee and traditional snacks on the ferry.”
