Plaza Premium Group launches ‘Plaza Petit’ for young travellers

Plaza Premium Group (PPG), a leader in airport hospitality, has introduced 'Plaza Petit', a global family programme aimed at transforming airport dwell time into an enriching experience for families and young travellers. The initiative, launched on 20 October, is set to debut in Hong Kong, Toronto, and London before expanding to other locations in PPG's network.

Plaza Petit addresses the challenges faced by travelling parents by creating dedicated spaces within PPG lounges and hotels. These areas are designed for play, reading, and relaxation, allowing children to explore whilst under parental supervision. A partnership with Room to Read, a global education non-profit, enriches the experience by providing access to a curated collection of books and a digital library.

The programme is structured around five pillars: Read, Play, Discover, Taste, and Relax. Each Plaza Petit zone features a Room to Read Story Corner with books in multiple languages. Young travellers receive activity sets and can enjoy a child-friendly menu. The spaces are designed with sustainable materials and child-scale furniture.

The initial rollout includes locations at Hong Kong International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, and London Gatwick and Heathrow airports. Future expansions will target key international gateways such as Dubai, Helsinki, and Rome.

Mei Mei Song, Chief Transformation Officer at PPG, stated, “Plaza Petit reflects PPG’s ambition to transform airport hospitality through experiences that are both thoughtful and meaningful.” Dr. Geetha Murali, CEO of Room to Read, added, “Through Plaza Petit, we are helping children experience the joy of reading.”

Plaza Petit installations also feature donation points to support Room to Read’s global literacy programmes
