TourHub, the online marketplace specialising in group and adventure tours, has secured £3 million in equity and debt financing to accelerate its international expansion and develop AI-powered search and booking capabilities, following a year of strong sales growth. The Cardiff-based travel technology company plans to use the investment to enhance its digital platform, improve tools for tour operators and strengthen its presence in key markets including the US, Canada, UK and Australia. The funding will also support the expansion of its global operator network and create additional jobs at its headquarters in Wales.
The financing round includes equity investments from existing backers Development Bank of Wales, Waterspring Ventures and a group of angel investors, alongside long-term debt financing from Finstock Capital. The latest investment follows a £1 million funding round in October 2023, which helped the company expand its tour operator network. The funding comes as TourHub reports growing demand for its marketplace, with sales reaching £23 million in 2025, an increase of nearly 40% year-on-year. Cumulative sales since launch have now reached £45 million. The platform currently offers more than 15,000 tours from 750 operators worldwide and aims to increase its network to 1,000 operators by 2027.
Seamus Conlon, Chief Executive Officer of TourHub, said the investment will help accelerate the development of AI-powered search and booking technology while expanding the company's marketing activities and partnerships with tour operators across its existing international markets.
Tom Linney, Investment Executive at the Development Bank of Wales, said TourHub has made significant progress in expanding its international reach and building a platform that connects travellers with a broad range of experiences. He added that the third funding round reflects continued confidence in the company's growth strategy and its potential to create more skilled jobs in Cardiff.
