Sabre stays “at the heart” of Air China disruption management

Air China

Just one week into June and Sabre Corporation has already hit our headlines three times. First up we had news that the American-based travel-tech maestros have teamed up with Microsoft, swiftly followed by the announcement it has extended its relationship with Vietnam Airlines.

But now Sabre has scored a travel news hat-trick by revealing it has signed an agreement to continue its 12-year, and counting, relationship with Air China.

Under the agreement, the two companies will enhance their ties through Air China’s use of the Sabre AirCentre Operations system to develop its crisis management capabilities, including for major and minor disruptions which could affect the carrier’s operations and customer experience.

Access to this new technology will help Air China to improve on-time performance and recovery time after schedule disruptions.

"Our mutually beneficial, longstanding relationship has enabled us to gain comprehensive understanding"

On top of providing technological solutions to respond and handle delays and cancellations, including adverse weather conditions, natural disasters and other emergencies, Sabre AirCentre Operations is designed to increase the efficiency of an airline's ops by boosting on-time performance and aircraft utilisation as well as “significantly” cutting overheads.

“Our mutually beneficial, longstanding relationship has enabled us to gain a comprehensive understanding of Air China’s business and deliver technology solutions that bring significant value to the airline,” said Dasha Kuksenko, vice president and regional general manager, Sabre Airline Solutions, Asia Pacific. “As a leading technology partner in China, Sabre is proud to manage the heart of the operations of a major Chinese carrier.”

Beyond augmenting its operations portfolio with new innovation, Air China will continue to leverage Sabre's integrated portfolio of solutions across commercial planning and enterprise operations.
