POSITION OVERVIEW
This newly created position will create and lead a department to oversee all groups activities for the business. This position forms part of the senior management team. You will be responsiblefor this part of the business in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos and will be based in Bangkok.

As an experienced Groups Manager, you are strategically minded and detail orientated. You will responsible for managing a small team of direct reports. You are charged with overseeing all group tour series and ad hoc group activities (anything from 10-500 pax). You will have the ability to grow existing accounts while also winning new business. You will be capable in overseeing the entire process from tender through to quotation and operation, always delivering the highest standards that A&K is known for.

In addition, you will be required to work efficiently and effectively with suppliers around the
region including hotels via face to face meetings, email and phone communications. The role
may require infrequent regional travel to inspect existing product and to meet with existing
suppliers. You may be required to travel internationally for various sales trips.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the travel industry, a genuine passion for their work, and will be commercially minded. As a service business our people are our greatest asset and strong interpersonal skills are a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the Groups business strategy for A&K Thailand, Cambodia and Laos
• Take a commercial management approach, running the department like a business within a business growing revenue in a strategic manner
• Ability to build and manage a small team of direct reports
• Customer relationship management, growing existing accounts while winning new business
• Oversee the design and delivery of group series business operated under the A&K brand
and sold through our own sales offices
• Successfully secure and manage group series business from 3rd party agents, operators and brands – everything from tender through to operation
• Manage ad-hoc group requests and projects from around the globe
• Develop creative and inspiring itineraries, programs and products
• Negotiation and cooperation with a range of suppliers across the region
• Contribute to the culture and workplace environment in a positive way

• University Degree (or minimum 5 years Groups Management experience)

• Positive attitude and motivated with an ability to work under pressure
