Hong Kong Airlines has revitalised its codeshare partnership with WestJet, effective from 26 October 2025, enhancing its international route network and offering passengers increased flexibility when travelling between Hong Kong and Canada. This renewed agreement allows Hong Kong Airlines to place its "HX" codes on various WestJet-operated domestic flights within Canada, facilitating seamless connections via Vancouver to major cities such as Calgary, Toronto, and Edmonton.
The collaboration enables travellers to complete their journey with a single ticket and benefit from through check-in for both boarding and baggage, making Vancouver a strategic gateway between Hong Kong and key Canadian destinations. Louis Li, Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration not only strengthens Hong Kong Airlines’ network coverage in North America but also demonstrates our confidence in building a truly global network.”
John Weatherill, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer of WestJet, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the convenience and flexibility the partnership brings to passengers connecting through WestJet’s domestic network. He remarked, “This milestone brings our airlines closer together, and further connects Hong Kong with Canada, paving the way for stronger tourism and business connections on both sides of the Pacific."
