Saudi Arabia is stepping up its ambitions in the global luxury yachting market with the launch of the Red Sea Yacht Show, an international marine event expected to generate investment returns of more than SAR1.8 billion ($479 million). Scheduled to take place from October 14 to 17, 2027, the inaugural show is expected to bring together around 50 yachts, 150 exhibitors and more than 10,000 visitors, positioning the Red Sea as an emerging destination on the international superyacht circuit.
The event was announced during the Monaco Yacht Show and is backed by Makkah Region Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. PIF-owned Sela has signed a cooperation agreement with Tahaluf to organise the event and lead its international promotion, as Saudi Arabia looks to attract greater investment and visitor spending around its rapidly developing Red Sea tourism economy.
Beyond the yachts themselves, the four-day event will combine marine tourism with a broader luxury lifestyle offering spanning fashion, jewellery, high-end automobiles and culinary experiences. Visitors will also be introduced to golf and diving experiences designed to showcase the Red Sea's growing tourism proposition. In a move aimed at strengthening the connection between Saudi Arabia and the established Mediterranean yachting circuit, several yachts are expected to sail from Monaco's Port Hercule to the Red Sea for the winter season.
The initiative, supported by BOAT International, is expected to provide international exposure for Saudi Arabia's coastline, marine destinations and expanding luxury tourism infrastructure. The announcement in Monaco was attended by Prince Albert II of Monaco alongside yacht owners, shipyard executives, designers and naval architects. The Red Sea Yacht Show adds another high-profile event to Saudi Arabia's expanding luxury tourism calendar as the Kingdom develops its Red Sea coastline into a major international destination for marine tourism, hospitality and high-end travel.
