Scoot expands Indonesian network with new routes

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has announced new flight services to Belitung and Pontianak in Indonesia, commencing in May and June 2026. The flights, operated by the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, aim to provide travellers with increased accessibility and travel options.

Belitung, located on the eastern coast of Sumatra, is renowned for its geological formations and biodiversity. Scoot will offer two weekly flights to this tropical destination starting 3 May 2026. Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan, known for its cultural richness and culinary delights, will see three weekly flights from 29 June 2026.

Economy Class fares begin at $72 (SGD99) to Belitung and $94 (SGD129) to Pontianak, inclusive of taxes. Bookings are available from today via Scoot’s website and mobile app.

With these additions, Scoot’s network will expand to 85 destinations across 18 countries and territories. The airline is also increasing flight frequencies to meet rising travel demand, particularly during the school holiday season. From April 2026, flights to Phuket will rise from 17 to 21 weekly, whilst Sibu will see an increase from three to four weekly flights. By June 2026, Bali and Jakarta flights will increase from 28 to 35 weekly.

Scoot's CEO, Leslie Thng, stated, “The addition of new routes to Belitung and Pontianak not only enhances Scoot’s footprint in Indonesia but also strengthens the SIA Group’s network connectivity through Singapore.”
