Global luxury travel event concludes in Sanya

The 9th DONG Connection Event, themed "Future Journey, Human Moments," concluded successfully at The Sanya EDITION, marking a significant milestone for China's luxury travel sector. This event, the first high-end travel industry gathering in Sanya since the Hainan Free Trade Port's closure operations, brought together global luxury travel resources to advance the industry.

Since its inception in 2018, the DONG Connection Event has become a dynamic platform for the luxury travel industry. This year, it hosted a record-breaking 750 attendees, including executives from renowned international luxury travel suppliers such as Bvlgari, Aman, and Four Seasons. The event facilitated collaboration among 360 luxury hotel groups and tourism organisations from 40 countries, aiming to strengthen ties between China's high-end travel market and the global luxury sphere.

The event's agenda focused on the transformative role of technology in luxury travel, exploring themes like AI-enabled travel, emotional value in experience design, and sustainable travel development. Over 20,000 one-on-one sessions delved into these topics, highlighting the integration of cutting-edge solutions with guest experiences.

The China Luxury Travel Trends Report, unveiled at the event, provided insights into the preferences of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in China. It revealed a shift towards personal growth, cultural immersion, and sustainable travel. May Wong, CEO of the DONG Connection Event, emphasised the industry's move from conspicuous consumption to a pursuit of inner value.

Co-founder Bamboo Zhou highlighted AI's role as an enabler in the industry, enhancing efficiency and personalisation whilst empowering travel advisers. The DONG Connection Event continues to drive innovation and redefine luxury travel by integrating AI advancements with human-centric experiences
