Accor, a leading global hospitality group, and Shoreline Group, a Pan-African energy and infrastructure investment firm, have signed a Letter of Intent to establish Nigeria's first national hotel platform. Announced at the Africa Forward Summit 2026 in Nairobi, this partnership aims to significantly enhance Nigeria's hospitality landscape with a $300 million investment from Shoreline.

The collaboration will develop a network of 10 hotels across eight Nigerian cities, offering over 1,200 rooms by 2030. These hotels will range from midscale to luxury, catering to a variety of travellers and boosting the nation's tourism industry. Additionally, the project includes the creation of a hospitality training academy, expected to generate around 1,000 direct jobs.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, expressed enthusiasm for the venture, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with Shoreline Group to unlock the immense potential of Nigeria’s hospitality sector." He emphasised the importance of the Accor Academy in developing local talent and reinforcing Accor's commitment to Nigeria.

Kola Karim, Chairman of Shoreline Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, noting, "We anticipate hospitality infrastructure becoming increasingly vital for capital movement and development, particularly in Nigeria where high-quality room supply is underserved."

Accor, with over 40 years of presence in Africa, currently operates four hotels in Nigeria and has five more in the pipeline. This initiative aligns with Shoreline's broader strategy of building infrastructure platforms across Africa, supporting economic growth and local capability
