India's corporate travel sector is poised for growth, with 74% of organisations expecting a surge in business travel over the next 12 months, according to a report by Ebix Travels. This anticipated increase comes as companies strive to balance rising travel demands with financial discipline and operational control.

The report, which analysed travel patterns from June 2025 to May 2026, highlights that 68% of organisations are prioritising cost optimisation in their travel management strategies. This focus on efficiency is driving a shift towards technology and data-driven decision-making to maximise the value of business trips.

Business travel remains crucial for customer engagement, market expansion, and revenue growth. The report notes that 52% of organisations have seen an uptick in premium and business-critical travel, whilst 47% have experienced more last-minute bookings, indicating a need for flexibility in response to market changes.

Technological advancements are playing a significant role in this evolving landscape. The report reveals that 71% of respondents find fluctuating airfares challenging, prompting 49% to explore AI-powered tools for better booking decisions and budget optimisation. Additionally, self-booking tools now account for 58% of bookings, reflecting a demand for seamless digital experiences.

Vikas Garg, Chairman of Ebix Group, emphasised the importance of technology in enhancing travel efficiency and compliance. "We believe the future of corporate travel will be defined by efficiency, agility, and seamless digital experiences," he stated.

As organisations increasingly adopt integrated travel ecosystems, they report improved governance, compliance, and employee experiences, underscoring the transformative potential of technology in business travel
