Emirates has achieved a significant milestone with over one million connections to its Starlink Wi-Fi service, just seven months after its introduction.
The service, available on 33 Boeing 777 and three Airbus A380 aircraft, has seen more than a Petabyte of data used by passengers, who have praised the Wi-Fi as being "better than at home."
The Starlink Wi-Fi service is available on over 60 daily flights, allowing passengers across all classes to stream content, join video calls, browse social media, and stay connected with family and friends. This rapid adoption highlights the demand for high-speed inflight connectivity, which Emirates continues to expand across its fleet.
Emirates has been a leader in onboard connectivity, initially introducing internet access on the Airbus A380 with first-generation systems. The current Starlink-equipped A380 aircraft offer more than 2 Gbps of bandwidth, providing a seamless internet experience for all passengers. The airline plans to integrate Live TV streaming into its award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, enhancing the customer experience further.
To expedite the rollout, Emirates has begun Starlink installations at its engineering facilities in Dubai. The airline remains committed to offering complimentary, ultra-fast Wi-Fi to as many passengers as possible, with installations continuing at a rapid pace. This initiative is part of Emirates' broader efforts to enhance customer experience, which includes a comprehensive cabin refurbishment programme across its fleet
