Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to enhance its international network by increasing flights to Japan and adding extra services to Australia during the Christmas and New Year travel season. Starting in late October, PAL will boost its Japan routes to meet rising demand, with flights from Manila to Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai) increasing from 14 to 21 weekly, and Manila to Sapporo (Chitose) from three to five weekly.

The expansion will elevate PAL's Japan operations to 87 weekly flights, offering travellers more options during the busy winter season. Richard Nuttall, President of PAL, highlighted the significance of this period for both Filipino and Japanese travellers, stating, "By adding more flights, we are giving our customers greater flexibility during these high-demand months whilst strengthening tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between our two countries."

In addition to Japan, PAL will operate extra flights to Australia on selected peak dates, with increased capacity on Melbourne and Perth routes and larger aircraft for Sydney and Brisbane services. These enhancements aim to cater to the strong demand from Filipino communities in Australia and holidaymakers during the year-end peak season.

PAL's expanded services are complemented by its frequent flyer partnership with Qantas, providing more reward redemption opportunities. The airline encourages early bookings to secure preferred travel dates during the holiday period
