TDM AWARDS - NOMINATE NOW!

Cruise Whitsundays has reopened its Heart Pontoon on Hardy Reef, following a comprehensive refurbishment aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.

The upgraded pontoon now features expanded deck space, increased shade, and a spacious underwater observatory, providing a more comfortable and immersive way to explore the Great Barrier Reef.

The refurbishment is part of Cruise Whitsundays' $40m (US$40m) investment in the region, which includes the construction of a new 36-metre catamaran. Shaun Cawood, General Manager of Cruise Whitsundays, stated, "This refurbishment reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef tourism offering."

Visitors to the Heart Pontoon can enjoy a range of activities, including snorkelling with provided gear, a semi-submarine guided tour, and dining options that cater to various dietary needs. The pontoon also offers optional upgrades such as guided snorkelling safaris, scuba diving, and helicopter flights.

Alicia Triggs, Executive General Manager Sales and Partnerships at Journey Beyond, highlighted the pontoon's appeal to both international and domestic markets, stating, "Heart Pontoon provides our trade partners with a premium, easy-to-sell experience."

The reopening of Heart Pontoon also supports the evolution of Reefworld into an exclusive overnight experience, set to reopen on 20 July. This transition will offer uninterrupted private use for overnight guests, enhancing their immersion in the World Heritage-listed reef.

To celebrate the reopening, Cruise Whitsundays is offering a 20% discount on the Great Barrier Reef full-day adventure until 31 August
