Air Arabia is expanding its German network with the launch of a new daily non-stop service between Sharjah and Frankfurt from December 15, 2026, strengthening connectivity between the UAE and one of Europe’s largest aviation and commercial hubs. Frankfurt will become the low-cost carrier’s second destination in Germany after Munich as it continues to grow its network across Europe.
The new service will connect Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA), providing travellers with a direct link to Germany’s leading financial centre and the wider Frankfurt Rhine-Main region. The route will also give passengers travelling from Germany greater access to Sharjah, the wider UAE and onward destinations across Air Arabia’s expanding network. The daily flights will be operated using Air Arabia’s Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering passengers a modern cabin experience while providing improved fuel efficiency and operational performance.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer, Air Arabia, said: “Frankfurt marks another important milestone in Air Arabia’s continued expansion across Europe and further enhances connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Germany. As our second destination in Germany, the new route reflects the growing importance of the German market within our network and the strong demand we continue to see for travel between our two countries.” He added: “Through our new daily non-stop service, we are providing our customers with greater choice, convenience and affordable connectivity, while supporting tourism, trade, and economic ties our two countries. We look forward to welcoming our customers onboard.”
The addition of Frankfurt further strengthens Air Arabia’s European footprint from Sharjah, where the airline has steadily expanded its network to major leisure and business destinations. Its European services currently include Milan Bergamo, Munich, Vienna, Athens, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw Chopin, London Gatwick and Rome.
Dietmar Focke, Chief Operating Officer, Fraport, said: “By offering daily flights between Frankfurt and Sharjah, Air Arabia is creating an important new connection between the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region and the United Arab Emirates. The new destination ideally complements Frankfurt Airport’s existing network of services to the Gulf region. For passengers, the new service opens up additional travel opportunities and provides access to Air Arabia’s extensive route network. We extend a warm welcome to Air Arabia and look forward to a successful partnership.”
The Frankfurt service will further broaden travel options between Germany and the UAE, while giving passengers access to Air Arabia’s wider network through its Sharjah hub. The airline operates a fleet comprising Airbus A320 and A321 family aircraft.
