Patrick Manthe has been appointed as the new General Manager of Avani+ Luang Prabang Hotel in Laos by Minor Hotels, a global hospitality group. Manthe, a Swiss national, brings extensive experience from his previous role as General Manager at Amari Pattaya in Thailand, where he managed resort operations and enhanced guest experiences.

Manthe's career spans over 25 years across Asia, Europe, and Australia. Before his tenure at Amari, he held leadership roles at Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan and Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay in the Philippines. At Boracay, he successfully led the resort’s reopening, achieving record revenue and gross operating profit in 2022. His experience also includes positions at Chatrium Hotel & Residence Riverside Bangkok and Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi.

In his new role, Manthe will oversee operations, commercial performance, and team development at the 53-room Avani+ Luang Prabang, located in the UNESCO World Heritage town. He aims to enhance the hotel’s connection to local culture and traditions. Manthe stated, “Luang Prabang is a destination where the character of the place is central to the guest experience. My priority is to support our people in delivering thoughtful, personal service.”

Avani+ Luang Prabang is strategically situated in the old town, offering guests access to local temples, boutiques, and cafés. The hotel is one of two Avani properties in Laos, with Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane opening in July 2026. Manthe holds a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism Management and is fluent in German and English, with conversational French
