Amansara, located near Cambodia's UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor, has reopened following a three-month enhancement programme in collaboration with Kerry Hill Architects. The renovation, which concluded on 15 September 2026, introduces refreshed accommodations, dining, and wellness experiences whilst preserving the resort's iconic New Khmer architecture.
The renovation focused on expanding Amansara's accommodation offerings, adding five guest suites with private swimming pools. Two new suite categories, the Junior Pool Suite and Two-Bedroom Family Pool Suite, cater to the growing demand for family and multi-generational travel. All 24 guest suites have undergone a comprehensive refurbishment.
Amansara's social spaces have been reimagined, including a new destination bar in a room once used by King Norodom Sihanouk. The Dining Room, a significant architectural space, now features integrated banquette seating and a new wine cellar. The Aman spa has introduced hydrotherapy facilities, including hot and cold plunge pools and a sauna, enhancing its holistic wellness approach.
New experiences at Amansara include private dining on upgraded Amanbala lake boats and excursions to the floating village of Chong Kneas. A custom-designed family remork offers a unique way for families to explore Siem Reap and Angkor.
The resort's reopening marks a renewed expression of its storied heritage, balancing preservation with modern enhancements. Amansara continues to offer guests a deeper connection to Cambodia's cultural, spiritual, and natural heritage
