Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) and the Municipality of Panglao are joining forces to enhance the tourist experience in Panglao, focusing on improvements at Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA). The airport, operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corporation (ABAC), has seen significant investments in passenger areas, systems, and facilities to boost operations and passenger satisfaction.
The collaboration aims to create a seamless visitor journey from arrival to departure. A recent meeting between AIC executives and Panglao officials, including Mayor Edgardo Arcay, discussed opportunities for closer coordination among the airport, local government, and tourism stakeholders. Christopher Camba, AIC First Vice President, emphasised the airport's role as a visitor's first point of contact, stating, “We want to work closely with Panglao to understand the needs of the destination and identify ways the airport can support the experience beyond the terminal.”
Panglao, known for its beaches and vibrant tourism industry, relies on BPIA as a key gateway. Mayor Arcay highlighted the importance of collaboration, recognising the role of government, businesses, and residents in enhancing the visitor experience. Blessie Cruz, AIC Airports Head of Tourism, noted, “The airport is an important part of that journey, and we want to complement Panglao’s efforts by understanding what the destination needs.”
Through BPIA, Aboitiz InfraCapital Airports continues to improve facilities and operations, supporting a better-connected visitor journey between the gateway and the destination
