Indian travellers are increasingly favouring immersive and adventure-led experiences, according to Agoda's latest data on the most-booked activities from January to June 2026. The digital travel platform highlighted that theme parks and island tours are the top choices, with Universal Studios Singapore, Pattaya Coral Island Tour in Thailand, and VinWonders Phu Quoc in Vietnam leading the rankings.

The trend indicates a shift from traditional sightseeing to experience-led holidays, where entertainment and cultural discovery are central to travel plans. This preference underscores the appeal of short-haul destinations in Southeast Asia, known for their connectivity, diverse attractions, and value-for-money experiences, making them ideal for family holidays and group getaways.

Theme parks have emerged as the most popular activities across Asia's major destinations. Hong Kong Disneyland topped the list in Asia, whilst Tokyo Disney Resort and Lotte World were favourites in Japan and South Korea, respectively. This highlights the enduring appeal of theme parks as a primary travel focus rather than a supplementary activity.

Beyond theme parks, nature-led experiences are gaining traction. In Vietnam, Sun World Fansipan Legend in Sapa, which offers a cable car journey to Indochina's highest peak, was the most-booked activity. Marine and wildlife attractions like Aquaria KLCC in Malaysia and Jakarta Aquarium Safari in Indonesia also saw high demand.

Gaurav Malik, Country Director for India Subcontinent and Indian Ocean Islands at Agoda, noted, “Travel today is increasingly about creating meaningful memories, and Indian travellers are embracing destinations that offer a blend of entertainment, discovery, and relaxation.”

Agoda's data, collected from bookings made between 1 January and 15 June 2026, reflects a growing trend towards experience-driven travel, with over 300,000 activities available on its platform
