Klook, a global travel experiences platform, has launched Kai, an AI agent that helps merchants manage their operations more efficiently. Unlike traditional AI assistants, Kai goes beyond answering queries. It can also execute tasks such as inventory management, pricing adjustments and booking updates through Klook's merchant portal. The technology aims to reduce manual workloads and give merchants more time to focus on delivering quality experiences.
Klook is rolling out Kai globally in phases ahead of the year-end travel season. The launch targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which account for about 95% of the experiences sector. Many lack the digital infrastructure to reach customers beyond offline channels. By integrating AI into its existing platform, Klook aims to help these businesses move from manual processes to AI-powered operations.
"With Kai, we're bringing the most practical and valuable agentic AI capabilities into their day-to-day operations, removing much of the manual work involved in running their businesses," said Bernie Xiong, Klook's co-founder and CTO.
Early adopters have reported significant improvements in operational efficiency. Kai completes some tasks up to 97% faster than traditional processes. Merchants using the agent have also recorded 34 times more monthly bookings than those not using it. These gains help businesses respond faster to changing demand and capture more booking opportunities.
Kai also supports business growth beyond routine operations. It simplifies product listings and analyses customer reviews and performance data to provide actionable insights. Merchants can use these insights to refine their offerings, improve service quality and focus more on expanding their businesses.
