Air Charter Service, a leading aircraft charter specialist, facilitated a unique experience for nearly 100 eclipse enthusiasts by organising a special charter flight from the UK to Valladolid, Spain. This allowed passengers to witness the solar eclipse's path of totality, a rare opportunity not available in the UK, which only experienced a partial eclipse.

The path of totality, offering a complete view of the eclipse, traversed parts of Greenland, Iceland, and Spain. With weather conditions being crucial for optimal viewing, Air Charter Service meticulously selected observation spots and arranged an Embraer 190 aircraft with multiple landing options. The flight departed from London Stansted, with Valladolid chosen as the final destination due to favourable weather forecasts.

Matthew Purton, Group Aviation Services Director at Air Charter Service, highlighted the company's commitment to providing exceptional experiences for eclipse chasers. "We booked the day return flight more than a year ago, knowing that we would be able to help eclipse-chasers, astronomy enthusiasts and photographers get the best view of the first total solar eclipse in continental Europe since 2006," he stated.

Looking ahead, Air Charter Service is preparing for the "Eclipse of the Century" on 2 August 2027, which promises a totality lasting up to six and a half minutes. With some hotels already fully booked, the company plans to offer chartered flights to prime viewing locations, providing an ideal solution for those eager to witness this celestial event
