British Airways has announced its winter 2026 schedule, adding new routes to Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Melbourne, Australia.
The airline launched its Colombo service from London Gatwick on 23 October. Operating three times a week, the route gives travellers a direct connection to Sri Lanka's beaches, wildlife and cultural attractions.
British Airways will also launch flights to Melbourne on 9 January, ahead of major events including the Australian Open and the Melbourne Grand Prix. The service will give travellers access to the city's arts scene and attractions such as the Great Ocean Road.
"The launch of our new Colombo service marks an exciting start to our winter schedule and reflects our continued commitment to offer customers more choice across our network," said Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Chief Planning and Strategy Officer.
Alongside the new routes, British Airways is increasing capacity to popular destinations such as Cape Town, Tokyo and Bridgetown. The airline is also adding more flights to European cities, including Rome, Florence and Jersey.
The winter schedule will also feature seasonal services to Christmas market destinations such as Cologne, Nuremberg and Innsbruck.
The expanded network offers travellers more options for winter holidays, city breaks and festive getaways.
