Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru will offer a festive programme celebrating Maldivian culture, marine conservation and ocean adventures from 22 December 2026 to 7 January 2027. Titled “The Secret Underwater Garden”, the programme invites guests to experience the holidays through local traditions and marine activities.
Guests can decorate Christmas trees with resident artist Abdullah, attend a beachfront lighting ceremony and explore a recycled-wood Advent Calendar. Cultural activities include Maldivian storytelling, sarong workshops and traditional Bodu Beru performances.
Marine conservation will feature prominently, with activities led by the resort’s Marine Lab, the first of its kind in the Maldives. Guests can plant coral, join Citizen Science snorkelling sessions and attend marine talks. Younger visitors can also join the Junior Ocean Guardian programme to learn about ocean conservation.
Ocean adventures include dolphin cruises, sunset sailing and lagoon excursions. Signature experiences include Masveriyaage Dhathuru: Fisherman Journey and the Kahan’bu sunrise cruise.
Dining options include Japanese cuisine at Madi Hiyaa and Thai dishes at Saffron. Both restaurants feature local ingredients, including coconut and fresh fish. Festive highlights include a beachfront Christmas Eve dinner and a New Year Gala Dinner on Naiboli Beach.
Guests can welcome the new year with a Year-End Gratitude Meditation and an island-to-island swim on 1 January. The programme concludes with an Orthodox Christmas Party on 7 January 2027.
Nightly rates start at US$1,300 per villa.
