The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has welcomed Belavia Belarusian Airlines' first non-stop flight from Minsk to Bangkok. The new service expands direct air connectivity between Belarus and Thailand. Belavia will operate weekly flights to Suvarnabhumi Airport. From 29 October, it will also launch twice-weekly flights to Phuket, giving Belarusian travellers easier access to Thailand's top destinations.
Flight B2 799 arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 17.05. TAT executives, including Suladda Sarutilavan, Executive Director Europe Region, greeted passengers and crew with commemorative souvenirs. Suladda highlighted the importance of the new scheduled services. She said they create "valuable new opportunities for Thailand in the Belarusian market" and allow travellers to explore Thailand's coastal, cultural and wellness attractions.
Belavia operates the Minsk–Bangkok service every Sunday using an Airbus A330-200. The aircraft has 18 Business Class seats and 263 Economy Class seats. The flight departs Minsk at 03.10 and arrives in Bangkok at 17.05. The return flight leaves Bangkok at 19.05 and arrives in Minsk at 01.50 the following day. The upcoming Minsk–Phuket flights will add approximately 2,248 inbound seats each month.
Belarusian passport holders can use Thailand's Visa on Arrival to stay for up to 15 days. This allowance aligns with the average length of stay for Belarusian visitors to Thailand, which is nearly double their typical overseas travel duration. In 2025, arrivals from Belarus rose by 56.48% to 32,179. TAT expects the figure for 2026 to reach 30,000–35,000.
