Bob W enters Malta with 95-unit aparthotel

AI-powered hospitality operator Bob W will enter Malta with a 95-unit aparthotel in Gżira. The company is developing Bob W Malta Central with Ciantar Developments. The property will open in the third quarter of 2028, expanding Bob W’s presence in Southern Europe.

The 4,000-square-metre aparthotel will offer 85 one-bedroom apartments, nine two-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom apartment. Facilities will include a gym, sauna, swimming pool, restaurant and rooftop terrace. The property will cater to both short-term visitors and extended-stay guests.

The aparthotel will sit near Marsamxett Harbour, Manoel Island and Sliema’s coastal promenade. Guests will also have access to the University of Malta and major roads connecting Gżira with Malta International Airport, Valletta and St Julian’s.

Renato Sciannimanico, Real Estate Director for Southern Europe at Bob W, said Malta attracts visitors beyond the peak summer season. He added that working with Ciantar Developments from the start would help Bob W tailor the building to its operating model and guests’ needs.

Darren Ciantar, CEO of Ciantar Developments, said Gżira suits the project. He highlighted Bob W’s approach, which combines thoughtful design, technology and operational expertise.

Bob W continues to expand internationally. The company reported a 34% increase in new keys opened in 2026 and aims to operate in at least 18 countries by 2028. Its expansion plans include further growth in the UK, the Nordic countries, and the DACH region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
