Nirav Gandhi, Director of Express Group of Hotels & Resorts, has been elected President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) (HRAWI). The appointment took place during the association’s 76th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai on 10 September 2026.
Gandhi previously served as HRAWI’s Senior Vice President. With more than 30 years of hospitality experience, he will lead the association’s work on policy advocacy, industry collaboration and regional tourism development.
“It is an honour and a responsibility to take on the leadership of HRAWI at a time when the hospitality industry is undergoing significant transformation,” Gandhi said. He emphasised the need for a united industry voice to shape policies that support hospitality businesses.
The AGM also appointed Paramjit Singh Ghai as Senior Vice President and Gurbir Singh Bedi as Vice President.
Gandhi outlined plans to expand HRAWI’s initiatives, including the HRAWI Conclave & Awards and the Knowledge Series. He also proposed establishing a Hotel Chain Representation Board to strengthen engagement with policymakers at different levels.
HRAWI represents hotels and restaurants across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and the Union Territories. The 76-year-old association is affiliated with the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI).
