Casago has successfully completed the sale of all former Vacasa markets, marking a significant milestone in its strategy to transition these markets to local franchise ownership. This move comes just over a year after Casago acquired Vacasa, a leading vacation rental management company. By September, all markets will be under new local franchise or ownership structures.

The acquisition of Vacasa on 1 May 2025 allowed Casago to merge its franchise-driven model with Vacasa’s centrally managed platform, creating a company that manages over 40,000 properties across North America, Belize, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean. Casago's approach focuses on local ownership, accountability, and personalised service, which it believes strengthens vacation rental management.

Casago President Joe Riley stated, “We set out with a clear vision: to bring vacation rental management back to local ownership, local accountability, and local hospitality. Now that vision has become reality.” He emphasised the importance of local franchise owners who are deeply invested in their communities and committed to sustainable business practices.

The transition aims to align the interests of homeowners, guests, employees, and local communities, ensuring continuity in service. Casago's Chief Operations Officer John Banczak praised the rapid and effective transformation, attributing it to the strength of the franchise model and the dedication of the new market leaders.

This strategic shift not only reflects Casago’s commitment to localised management but also signals a broader industry trend towards community-focused operations. As the company continues to support its franchisees with national resources, it sets a precedent for future developments in the vacation rental sector.
