easyJet will welcome over 2.4 million passengers on its flights over the Easter holidays (1 – 17 April) in what is set to be the busiest Easter getaway in the airline’s history.
Numbers will peak on Good Friday, 14 April when almost 250,000 passengers are expected to fly on 1,628 flights across the network.
In the UK alone, over 141,134 passengers are set to fly to or from easyJet’s UK airports on 934 flights on Friday 14 April, toppling another record for the most customers travelling with the airline on one day during the Easter getaway.
Malaga, Palma, Faro, Alicante, Paphos and Catania top the list of favourite sunshine destinations and Geneva came out top as the perfect destination for some end of season skiing with some 30,000 passengers choosing this route.
Sophie Dekkers, director UK Market, easyJet said: “Year after year Easter continues to be one of our busiest travel periods for our customers and this year will be no exception.
“Whether customers are flying to visit friends and family or incorporating skiing into their Easter breaks this year, we are doing everything possible to make our customer’s Easter travel as easy and of course, affordable as possible.”
