Emirates has partnered with Al Etihad Payments to integrate Jaywan, the UAE's national card scheme, into its flight booking system. Starting 16 September 2026, customers can use Jaywan cards to book flights online or at Emirates retail stores, offering a seamless payment experience and special fares.
The agreement, signed by Abdulla Al Olama of Emirates and Andrea Cianchetti of Al Etihad Payments, aims to expand the UAE's homegrown payments ecosystem. Jaywan cardholders will benefit from discounts across all cabin classes and most fare types for bookings made until 31 August 2027, with travel valid until 29 February 2028.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the partnership's role in providing more payment options and supporting the UAE's digital payments ecosystem. "Jaywan is now added as a homegrown option that adds further choice and simplicity when booking," he stated.
Dr Tariq Al Hawi, Chief Operating Officer at Al Etihad Payments, emphasised the value and convenience Jaywan brings to cardholders, enhancing their payment experience both online and in-store. The initiative aligns with Emirates' broader efforts to promote cashless transactions, following its collaboration with Dubai Finance and the launch of Cryptocom Pay.
Jaywan, introduced by Al Etihad Payments, strengthens the UAE's financial infrastructure by localising card transactions. It is widely accepted across various sectors, including retail, healthcare, and transportation, reinforcing national financial sovereignty
