Emirates SkyCargo boosts India’s global trade links

Emirates SkyCargo has significantly increased its support for India's export sector, transporting over 153,000 tonnes of goods in the financial year 2025–26. The air cargo division of Emirates has introduced new freighter services to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, expanding its network to meet the rising demand for export capacity. This expansion is part of Emirates SkyCargo's strategy to connect Indian businesses with international markets, leveraging its extensive network of over 150 destinations.

The carrier plays a crucial role in India's export ecosystem, facilitating the movement of high-value, time-sensitive goods such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, high-tech electronics, and automotive components. Weekly, Emirates SkyCargo transports more than 650 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and over 600 tonnes of fresh food from India to global destinations via Dubai. Notably, nearly 2,900 tonnes of Indian mangoes were exported between April and June 2026.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, emphasised India's strategic importance, stating, "We are enabling Indian exporters to connect quickly and efficiently with international customers by providing rapid and reliable access to global supply chains."

The introduction of new freighter services complements Emirates' 167 weekly passenger flights, enhancing connectivity to global trade routes. The expansion supports the growing trade between India and the UAE, bolstered by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which has seen non-oil trade grow at an annual rate of 15%.

Additionally, Emirates SkyCargo's road feeder network has facilitated the transport of over 4,500 tonnes of cargo, providing businesses outside gateway cities access to its global network. With a fleet of over 280 aircraft, Emirates SkyCargo continues to support customers across six continents, offering specialised transportation solutions.
