A2A Safaris had made Faith Coetzee its new GM for its Singapore, Hong Kong and Manila team as demand for luxury travel services to Africa and Latin America booms, the company said in a statement.
Ms Coetzee, a South African, has more than 18 years’ experience in the travel industry and joins A2A in Hong Kong this month from global luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent, where she has been Sales and Marketing Director for Greater China since 2011.
Ms Coetzee managed its Destination Management Company’s sales, oversaw supplier and third-party property relationships, travel agent partners and retail consortia, such as Virtuoso and Signature Travel Network, as well as its team of consultants who sold bespoke trips into Greater China.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong in 2004, Ms Coetzee was a Travel Consultant at Wilderness Safaris in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ms Coetzee joins A2A at a time of rapid growth as the bespoke travel company has seen bookings to Africa from Singapore, Manila and Hong Kong triple since 2016, while bookings to Latin America have doubled every year since A2A expanded there three years ago.
“We are delighted to have Faith join our team. Her knowledge and experience in luxury travel will be valuable in supporting our business in Asia. She will be instrumental in developing the business, building new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with the top lodges, camps and various suppliers and partners in Africa and Latin America.” Victor Dizon, co-founder of A2A, said.
“Africa and Latin America are such vast and diverse continents. Even for seasoned travellers, there will always be something to discover in these places. I’m looking forward to sharing with our existing and new clients in Asia all that these regions have to offer,” said Ms Coetzee.
As well as Ms Coetzee, A2A had also recently hired Claire Betts as its Head of Latin America.
