HeliNY, New York City's largest helicopter tour operator, has successfully recovered over $232,000 in lost bookings by utilising TripWorks' AI-driven automation. This recovery comes as the company navigates a challenging tourism landscape, with international visitor numbers declining sharply. Since January 2025, HeliNY has processed more than 210,000 bookings, flying over 200 tours weekly and serving 60,000 passengers annually from the Downtown Manhattan Heliport and Linden Municipal Airport.
The significant recovery was achieved through TripWorks' automated abandoned cart campaigns, which re-engage customers who initially abandon their bookings. Paul Blodgett, CEO of HeliNY, emphasised the importance of this technology, stating, "This is how you run your day-to-day operations. Converting to TripWorks has enabled us to dramatically grow our business this year."
Blodgett, who previously served as a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, has applied his expertise in data analytics and technology to address operational gaps at HeliNY. The company has also completed over 133,000 digital waivers and manages more than 10 online travel agency integrations, alongside relationships with numerous hotels and concierges.
HeliNY is currently testing AI-powered chat and voice tools, including an AI phone agent, to enhance guest communication and booking conversion. Aaron Fessler, CEO of TripWorks, highlighted the practical benefits of AI, noting that it allows operators to focus on delivering transformative experiences whilst increasing revenue.
As HeliNY continues to innovate, the integration of AI and automation is set to play a crucial role in sustaining its growth and enhancing customer experiences
