The Hood River Pride Celebration is set to return for its fourth year on 5-6 June, bringing a weekend of vibrant festivities to downtown Hood River. Organised by Visit Hood River, the Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance, The Next Door, Inc., and the Hood River Hotel, the event aims to honour the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies through a series of inclusive activities.
The celebration will feature family-friendly events, drag performances, and comedy shows, inviting both residents and visitors to embrace individuality and community spirit. Hood River Mayor Paul Blackburn emphasised the event's significance, stating, “Pride in Hood River is about more than a weekend of events. It’s about showing up for one another and creating a community where people feel safe, valued, and celebrated exactly as they are.”
The schedule kicks off on Friday, 5 June, with the Hood River First Friday Summer Series Pride Celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oak Street. This free event includes a community pride procession, local vendors, and live music. Later that evening, Drag Bingo will take place at the Hood River Hotel’s Emerald Room, a ticketed event for those 21 and over.
Saturday, 6 June, will feature a Diva Drag Brunch at noon, followed by a Pride Comedy Show in the evening. Both events will be held in the Hood River Hotel’s Emerald Room and are ticketed for attendees 21 and over.
Katie Kadlub, CEO of Visit Hood River, expressed gratitude for the community's support, saying, “We are proud to help create spaces where people can gather, celebrate, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.” Proceeds from the celebration will support the Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance in its mission to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility
