Hospitable has become the first property management system (PMS) to natively integrate with Google Nest thermostats, creating a direct connection between Google Nest and a holiday rental PMS. This integration automates heating and cooling based on reservation activity, helping property managers reduce energy costs whilst ensuring homes are comfortable for guests.
As utility costs remain high, automating tasks such as climate control has become crucial for operators managing large portfolios. Hospitable's integration with Google Nest automatically adjusts temperatures according to reservation status, ensuring homes are guest-ready without wasting energy on vacant properties. This feature has been highly requested since Hospitable introduced smart thermostat support in January 2024.
Over 1,500 hosts have connected more than 4,000 thermostats through Hospitable, resulting in over 191,000 automated temperature adjustments. The integration allows hosts to customise automation with arrival buffers, room-level presets, and optional guest controls, balancing comfort and energy efficiency.
Pierre-Camille Hamana, CEO and Founder of Hospitable, stated, "Hosts automated their messaging, then their pricing. Climate control is the next thing they stop doing by hand. What's changed is the expectation that it's built into the platform they already run their business on, rather than something they manage in a separate app."
This development marks a significant step in energy efficiency for short-term rental operators, potentially setting a new standard in the industry. For more information, visit Hospitable's website
