Jetstar has launched a flash sale offering jetsetters flights across Australia for as little as AUD55 and the chance to snap up return flights for free.
Jetstar ‘Return For Free’ sale starts at midnight tonight, giving travel bugs access to 340,000 fares for routes across the country.
The sale – which will last until 11.59pm on Thursday unless sold out earlier – includes popular routes like Melbourne to Sydney and Brisbane to Uluru.
Club Jetstar members were able to access the sale early from 12pm yesterday before it opens to everyone tonight.
Other destinations include Margaret River, Gold Coast, Cairns, Hobart, Hervey Bay, and Hamilton Island.
Melbourne to Sydney is on offer from AUD55, and Sydney to Hervey Bay tickets can be bought from AUD151.
Brisbane to Uluru is priced at AUD179, as is Melbourne to Busselton, gateway to the WA southwest including the Margaret River wine region.
Jetstar’s sale follows regional airline Rex on Monday announced it will offer full-service flights from Sydney to Melbourne from AUD39.
Jetstar also has cheap flights on offer between major cities, including flights between Melbourne and Sydney from AUD30.
The airline is moving some of its international fleet to domestic routes, which it said would create hundreds of jobs.
About 30,000 Qantas and Jetstar employees lost their jobs in March last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The latter has since expanded its number of domestic routes to 58 – servicing 21 domestic destinations as the airline attempts to make up for the shortfall in revenue from international flights.
Included in the offer are the following routes:
Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney from $55
Sydney to Launceston from $89
Gold Coast (Coolangatta) to Melbourne (Avalon) from $95
Cairns to Newcastle from $139
Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Busselton (Margaret River) from $179
Sydney to Hervey Bay from $151
Brisbane to Uluru (Ayers Rock) from $179
Adelaide to Hobart from $102
