THE JOB
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and passionate head of sales to join a growing, Berlin-based OTA. Our client is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic head of sales to grow and nurture their sales team of hunters and gatherers (a mix of BDM and Account Managers). Using your first-hand knowledge of the travel market (with an enthesis on hotel partnerships), along with your natural leadership skills, you’ll be key in driving and improving the operational success of the business. You will be a motivational and highly credible sales manager, with the ability to support your team in acquiring new hotel partners, as well as supporting and maintaining existing hotel partnerships. You’ll create and implement strategy, analyse business performance, improve service levels and grow sales revenue in line with company and commercial goals. This is a truly outstanding opportunity for an established, travel industry sales leader.

My customer is a fresh and innovative online travel company, whose reputation for premium and unique travel experiences, along with exceptional customer service is fast securing them as the go-to online booking platform for worldwide travel.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
*Travel industry experience is mandatory for this role
*Proven experience within a sales management position, ideally within an e-commerce driven online booking company/tour operator/travel agency
*Demonstrable sales/business development background within travel – preferably with a network of hotel partnerships
*Commercially astute and able to demonstrate strategic capabilities
*Articulate and decisive with business development and performance management experience
*Ability to motivate and encourage a sales team and identify training needs
*Tenacious and determined with the desire to succeed in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
*Fluent in German (mother tongue) and English. Additional European languages would be advantageous
