Macau gears up for its return to ITB Berlin
The territory’s participation is part of its efforts to diversify its tourism source markets
Macau is slated to make a stunning comeback at this year’s ITB Berlin from 4th to 6th March.
According to Macao Government Tourist Office (MGTO) chief Helena de Senna Fernandes, this is more than a showcase of the city’s attractions, but a crucial part of their efforts to diversify its tourist markets.
Fernandes acknowledged the challenges of attracting European visitors, particularly due to the smaller size and traditional vocation of its tourist partners in Macau.
Being present at ITB Berlin is, thus, seen as a necessary part of the strategy of increasing internationalisation across tourist segments.
Prior to its appearance at ITB Berlin, MGTO will make its way to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 25 February and in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 27 February, for a series of business-to-business meetings aimed to increase arrivals from the Middle East.
