Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital, is enhancing its role as a key transfer hub in the Philippines, offering improved connectivity to major destinations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The airport is expanding its domestic network with new direct routes and increased flight frequencies, making travel more efficient for passengers.

AirAsia Philippines has strengthened its operations at the Cebu hub, now offering direct flights from Cebu to Davao, Iloilo, and Caticlan. The airline has increased its Cebu–Davao–Cebu route to 18 weekly flights, providing greater connectivity between Visayas and Mindanao. Morning flights to Iloilo and afternoon departures to Caticlan offer flexibility for both business and leisure travellers.

Cebu Pacific is also expanding its network from Cebu, introducing direct flights to El Nido, Siargao, and Coron, among others. Starting 29 March, the airline will add 33 weekly flights from MCIA to meet peak summer travel demand, enhancing access to destinations such as Bacolod City, Boracay, and El Nido.

MCIA's domestic network is complemented by growing international connectivity, highlighted by the recent arrival of Philippine Airlines’ Airbus A350-1000. This advanced aircraft enhances passenger comfort and fuel efficiency, supporting long-haul flights.

Rafael M. Aboitiz, AIC Vice President and Head of Airports, stated, “MCIA is fast becoming the Philippines’ most efficient and accessible transfer hub.” The airport's developments aim to provide a seamless travel experience, reflecting Filipino hospitality and positioning Cebu as a gateway to the country's top destinations
