Norwegian Cruise Line has officially taken delivery of Norwegian Luna, the second ship in its next‑generation Prima Plus Class, from Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy. At 156,000 gross tons with capacity for 3,565 guests and 1,809 staterooms, Norwegian Luna brings more space, more dining and more attractions to NCL’s 21‑ship fleet, ahead of a year‑round Caribbean debut from Miami followed by Bermuda cruises from New York.

Norwegian Luna: Next‑Generation Prima Plus Design

Norwegian Luna builds on the blueprint of Norwegian Prima and Viva with intentionally designed venues, expanded outdoor space and a strong focus on choice and flexibility. Guests can look forward to:

  • 17 dining options plus 18 bars and lounges, from complimentary main dining rooms and a 24‑hour eatery to multiple specialty venues.
  • A wide mix of staterooms, including inside, oceanview and balcony cabins, suites and The Haven by Norwegian®, the ship‑within‑a‑ship enclave with private restaurant, lounge, sundeck and butler service.
  • Design that emphasises wide‑open spaces, immersive entertainment and effortless guest flow, in line with NCL’s “It’s Different Out Here” brand ethos.

NCL President Marc Kazlauskas describes Norwegian Luna as a “powerful reflection” of that ethos, offering freedom, flexibility and thoughtfully curated experiences so guests can holiday exactly how they want.

Family Thrills: Aqua Slidecoaster, Luna Midway and More

Norwegian Luna is packed with new and enhanced attractions aimed at families and fun‑seekers. Highlights include:

  • Aqua Slidecoaster – NCL’s signature hybrid between a waterslide and rollercoaster, recently named “Best Water Park Ride/Attraction” by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
  • Luna Midway – An outdoor, amusement‑park‑style zone with carnival‑inspired games and lively family‑friendly energy.
  • Moon Climber – A debut multi‑level obstacle course that challenges adults and kids alike high above the deck.
  • The Luna Game Zone – Interactive play spaces offering everything from retro arcade favourites to VR experiences.
  • Glow Court – A high‑tech complex with an interactive LED floor that serves as a sports and play venue by day, then transforms into a vibrant club at night.

Adults can retreat to the Mandara Spa for world‑class wellness or escape to the Vibe Beach Club, NCL’s adults‑only sun deck for quieter sea days.

Itineraries: Year‑Round Caribbean from Miami, Then Bermuda from NYC

After sea trials and delivery, Norwegian Luna will sail a transatlantic voyage from Rome (Civitavecchia) to Miami, arriving in the U.S. on 23 March 2026. She will be christened at PortMiami on 27 March 2026 before starting her first full year in service.

During that inaugural year, Norwegian Luna will:

  • Homeport in Miami, operating a mix of 3‑ and 4‑day Bahamas cruises and 7‑day Caribbean sailings.
  • From 11 April to 7 November 2026, focus on Eastern Caribbean itineraries, calling at ports like Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), St. Thomas (USVI) and NCL’s enhanced private island Great Stirrup Cay, which now features a new pier, a large pool and the upcoming Great Tides Waterpark (opening summer 2026).
  • From November 2026, switch to Western Caribbean itineraries, visiting Roatán (Honduras), Cozumel (Mexico) and Harvest Caye, NCL’s private resort‑style destination off Belize.

On 6 April 2027, Norwegian Luna will debut in New York City, becoming the newest contemporary ship to sail from the city. From there she’ll offer 4‑ to 7‑day Bermuda cruises with overnights at the Royal Naval Dockyard, giving guests more time to explore the island.

For cruisers who want the latest hardware, big‑ticket attractions and flexible short‑and long‑cruise options, Norwegian Luna’s arrival brings a fresh new choice in both the Caribbean and Bermuda markets
