Plaza Premium Group hosts global singing competition

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) is set to host its inaugural global Solo Singing Competition on 27 April at the Concert Hall of Hong Kong City Hall. The event, held in collaboration with the Hong Kong Virtuoso Chorus, aims to foster employee engagement and support environmental initiatives, with proceeds benefiting the "Plant a Choral Seed" project in Bhutan.

Founded nearly 30 years ago in Hong Kong, PPG is a leader in airport hospitality services, operating in 600 airports across 150 countries. The company has prioritised employee well-being as part of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. The PPG Choir, a voluntary initiative, exemplifies this commitment by uniting employees through music.

The competition will feature shortlisted contestants from various PPG markets performing live in Hong Kong. This event is designed to enhance cross-border connections, instil pride in the Hong Kong-founded brand, and offer employees a creative outlet beyond their daily roles. It also serves as a model for integrating culture-building into broader ESG agendas.

Linda Song, Co-Founder and Executive Director of PPG, emphasised the initiative's role in promoting inclusion and community building. "This competition showcases how HR and business leaders can embed culture building into a broader ESG and people's agenda," she stated.

The event will not only highlight musical talent but also provide insights into PPG's approach to employee engagement and retention. It offers lessons for other companies seeking to develop authentic, people-led programmes that go beyond traditional ESG metrics
