Qatar Tourism's chairman, Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, participated in the 30th Annual Economist Government Roundtable held in Athens, Greece, from 8 to 10 July.
The event gathered senior officials, business leaders, and international experts to discuss international cooperation and the role of infrastructure and innovation in sustainable development.
During the forum, Al Kharji joined a panel titled "Connecting Regions, Communities and Countries – Promoting Resilience and Prosperity," where he shared insights on Qatar's strategies for enhancing the resilience of its tourism sector. He emphasised the importance of effective crisis response and collaboration across various entities, noting that resilience is crucial for maintaining investor and traveller confidence and driving sustainable growth.
Al Kharji also highlighted Qatar's strategic position as a global hub, connecting travellers across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East through a robust air connectivity network and international partnerships. This connectivity, he argued, enhances travel flow and market connectivity.
Qatar Tourism's involvement in the roundtable underscores its commitment to strengthening its presence on global platforms, forging strategic partnerships, and promoting its vision for a sustainable tourism sector. The forum provided an opportunity to showcase Qatar's tourism infrastructure and investment landscape, reinforcing its status as a trusted destination poised to meet future demands
