Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has unveiled the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP), a transformative vision set to redefine Singapore's island playground over the next two decades. The plan, which was announced at the Your Island Reimagined exhibition at VivoCity, aims to integrate Sentosa with the 120-hectare Brani, unlocking new spaces for attractions, hotels, and experiences.
The GSMP will introduce new iconic landmarks such as the Imbiah Canopy and Sensorium, designed to enhance Sentosa's appeal as a global leisure destination. These developments will include nature-centric attractions, reimagined beaches, and enhanced connectivity through the Island Heart Transport Hub and a new People Mover System.
Thien Kwee Eng, CEO of SDC, stated, "The GSMP is the greatest transformation in our history. We will stay true to the soul and identity of this island whilst shaping the next generation of world-class experiences."
The plan also focuses on sustainability, with initiatives like coastal protection measures and the integration of green spaces to enhance ecological connectivity. The first milestone, Sensoryscape, exemplifies this approach by combining immersive gardens and ecological enhancements.
As Greater Sentosa evolves, it is expected to attract twice as many visitors, reinforcing its status as a beloved destination for both Singaporeans and international tourists. The phased development will begin in the early 2030s, ensuring that Sentosa remains a vibrant and sustainable sanctuary in a global city
