DayBreakHotels, a Rome-based travel tech start-up launched by Simon Botto, Flavio Del Greco, Lorenzo Stabile and Michele Spadone in 2013, recently caught the attention of Hotel Jumpstart, the accelerator programme organised by Expedia Affiliate Network (EAN) and Hotels.com in collaboration with Traveltech Lab, for helping three- to five-star hotels maximise their accommodation and occupancy levels while reaching out to business, leisure, and "bleisure" travellers.
Book, bid and win: UpsellGuru enhances up-selling strategy for hoteliers
UpsellGuru, based in Germany with a satellite office in Malaysia, has become a favourite of boutique chains and independent brands in the luxury side of hospitality for this reason. Launched in May 2016, it is currently the only pre-arrival up-selling management system on the market that allows guests to bid on – as opposed to simply avail – room upgrades and add-on services.
