Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India's largest hospitality company, has announced the launch of Taj Mount Kusur Resort and Villas in Lonavala, Maharashtra. Developed in partnership with Amavi, India's only hospitality-backed real estate brand, this project signifies Taj's debut in the luxury branded villa segment.
Spread over a 34-acre estate in the Western Ghats, the development includes 32 branded villas and a 100-key Taj resort. The villas, inspired by contemporary barn-style architecture, offer panoramic views of the surrounding lake and valley. The project also features a two-acre Wabi-Sabi Central Park, nature trails, zen gardens, and various recreational facilities.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, stated, “The launch of Taj Mount Kusur Resort & Villas marks our entry into the branded villa segment, broadening our portfolio to address evolving consumer preferences whilst bringing the trust, service excellence and legacy of the brand to a new category of luxury real estate.”
The villas will be available for sale through a lease-back programme, allowing residents access to Taj's renowned hospitality services. Apurv Kumar, Managing Director of Clarks Group of Hotels and Founder of Amavi, emphasised the project's aim to combine the privacy of a home with the service of Taj hospitality.
Located between Mumbai and Pune, Lonavala is a popular leisure destination known for its scenic beauty, making it an attractive location for second-home buyers. This development is expected to enhance the appeal of Lonavala as a premier destination for luxury living.
