Thus, in this article, you will learn of important tips you need to know before traveling to this enchanted archipelago Keep on reading to find out more.

Top Tips To Know Before Traveling to the Galapagos Islands

  1. Come With Plenty of Memory Cards or Extra Batteries

Known as Isles of fire because of its beautiful nature, this Ecudarian Islands is so beautiful that you would want to capture every piece of it on your camera. If you are coming with a normal camera, ensure you pack extra memory cards as well as extra batteries. If you would prefer to use your smartphone instead, ensure you have enough space and also come with a good power bank so you don’t run out of power while taking pictures of the dreamy island.

  1. Opt For a Small Cruise Ship

In most cases, the big ship cruise is more affordable. However, it might be worth considering the small cruise ship. This type of cruise ship provides a personalized service. The best way to see this enchanted archipelago is in small groups of six couples or thereabout. This way, you can see every part of the island without people always getting in your way.

  1. Read Up About the Galapagos Islands

Do you know that this island is also known as “the islands of Darwin’s wake?” Before coming to the islands of Darwin’s wake, it is recommended that you take out some time to learn more about it. This way, it makes it very easy to know what you should expect. It consists of about 13 major islands most of which are uninhabited. However, some of them are inhabited by people who are very hospitable.

  1. Don’t Forget Your Cash

Most things here are paid for by cash. You will need to have some cash with you while you are coming to visit this magnificent island. There are ATMs on the island but in some cases, they are very far. We recommend you have up to $800 cash with you to take care of any emergency.

  1. Pack Sturdy Footwear

One thing you should never forget is a pair of open-toed sturdy sandals. Alternatively, you can wear a pair of robust tennis shoes. This is to ensure you maintain good balance while you are touring the volcanic rock. It is also worthy of mention that the intensity of the sun here is too much. Thus, make sure you come with your favorite sunscreen.

  1. Get Your Entrance Fee Ready

One reason why these islands which are considered the pride of Ecuador have retained their beauty over the years is because of the type of care it receives from its management. This is why they charge an entrance fee. As an adult, you will be required to pay a $100 entrance fee. However, if you are with children, each of them will have to pay $50.

  1. You Won’t Be the Only Group on the Island

Most people will like to be the only group on the island. However, this is almost impossible. You are likely to meet with other groups while on the island. In fact, this could be an opportunity for you to make new friends. Nevertheless, despite the presence of another group, the authority that manages these enchanting islands has some rules to ensure that the island is not overrun at any point.

  1. Don’t Forget Your Seasickness Pills

Don’t forget your medications while traveling to South America. It could take time before you get access to a doctor if you get sick. Before coming to Ecuador, visit your doctor and see if he can recommend some seasickness medications you can take in a case you fall sick while you are here.

  1. Search for the Galapagos Island Deals

It is possible to enjoy your next vacation on these archipelagos on a budget. The best way to do this is to search for deals online. A lot of experienced cruise ship agents such as Voyagers yacht agent regularly offer deals for people going to the Galapagos for vacation. You can save money and time with these deals.
